Runriket - Arkils tingstad

Vallentuna

The Viking Age assembly Place, Arkils tingstad, an intriguing stone formation near the lake, is a unique heritage site. The two runestones at the site recount how Ulf's sons in Skålhamra raised the stones and established the assembly place in memory of their father. This was probably where the men of the Viking Age community assembled to dispense justice and resolve important issues.
